25th Anniversary Community Gala!

For 25 years, MSW has led the way in providing hands-on science education for kids in low-income schools and neighborhoods - and organizing communities to make these opportunities equitable and accessible for all.  To honor our anniversary and service, the City of San Francisco declared Thursday, October 27th, 2016 Mission Science Workshop Day and hosted our 25th Anniversary Community Gala at the San Francisco City Hall !!!

In the morning, 3rd graders assembled Gracie the whale under the rotunda, while the Mayor's office and board of supervisors proclaimed the day and shared their experiences and support. Thursday evening we invited the community to celebrate and support us by "sponsoring a whale bone".

During the last school year, Mission Science Workshop served a record number of students and programs at our Mission and Excelsior sites - and over half of our services were completely free for our schools.  We were able to do this in the face of the rising costs in our city that continue to displace the working class and immigrant families we serve, and financially limit our program and staff.
This year we are celebrating 25 years and asking for your support to help us meet the demand for our programs at as little cost as possible to our communities, and to expand our outreach to those who are most in need.
